First State Bank of the Florida Keys was awarded the “Business Ambassador Award” in the Green Business category at GLEE’s (Green Living & Energy Education) 4th Annual Green Living Awards by the GLEE Board of Directors.
A 2010 recipient of the Popular Vote in the same category, First State Bank of the Florida Keys was nominated for its community educational outreach and green leadership initiatives by Alison Higgins, President of GLEE.
Their nomination was based on a “Going Green” community leadership in: energy reduction, reuse and recycling programs at all Keyswide bank locations; community involvement, education, sponsoring community cleanups; and support local of Green organizations.
“GLEE is proud to honor First State Bank of the Florida Keys with this award in recognition of their dedication and on-going commitment of going green and helping our community become more eco-friendly,” said Higgins.
Nominees and winners are selected for the work each is doing to conserve natural resources, reduce waste and lessen environmental impact. The awards raise awareness of what can be done to reduce impact, as well as honoring those who serve as examples, like First State Bank of the Florida Keys, to promote pride and spirit in our islands.
