First State Bank of the Florida Keys has taken a leadership position with other locals including, Pirate Radio WKYZ101.7, to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club to help provide lunch for children during their summer day care program.
The Bank has opened a special account for donations to the Boys & Girls Club to raise the $6,000 needed to feed the kids. The summer day care program is for low-income families who received notice that the school district cannot to provide sandwiches and fruit for the club's 120 summertime children.
First State Bank joined by other locals, are the first cash contributors raising $1,700 so far. Cash donations are being accepted at any of First State Bank’s 11 Keyswide branches for the special ‘Boys/Girls Club Lunch Money Account’.
“The Bank supports the great work that the Boys & Girls Club provides for underprivileged children in our community,” said Don Lanman, First State Bank of the Florida Keys Senior Vice President/Marketing Director.” We’re asking the community to join us in rallying together to feed the children.”
