First State Bank Helps Stanley Switlick Spell Success

First State Bank of the Florida Keys sponsored the winning team in the “12th (Not So) Annual Adult Spelling Bee” rasising over $5,000 for Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys.

The, “A Bee Seas, Teaching in the Keys” team, which consisted of teachers and faculty members; Mary Lou Darczuk, Rosa Rios and Debra Smith, took first place in the overall competition by spelling the word ‘conniption’ and was also recognized for “Best Overall Team Name”.

“Congratulations to the ladies on their victory at the Spelling Bee and to Habitat of the Middle Keys on such a successful fundraiser,” said Lori Bailey, First State Bank of the Florida Keys Marathon City Executive. “First State Bank is proud to sponsor our local educators to spotlight their talents and our shared commitment to our community and our children.”
