First State Bank of the Florida Keys awarded seven employees with $1,300 in prizes in recognition of their outstanding volunteer efforts to local civic causes.
First State Bank actively gives back to the Keys communities they serve through sponsorships, donations, scholarships, and the community service volunteer time of their employees. The Bank offers "Community Time" or compensatory time for employees who volunteer at local civic events, in addition to cash rewards and recognition.
In 2013 alone, 488 First State Bank employees donated 976 hours to local non-profit organizations. The Bank has also made over $60,000 in monetary donations last year to local non-profits and charities in the Keys.
"It is a pleasure for us to recognize our dedicated employees for their contributions to our Keys community," said Kay Miller, First State Bank VP/Human Resources Director. "Our First State Bank family’s volunteer efforts exemplify our strong commitment to the community and to the non-profit organizations that help make life better for all of us in the Keys."
