First State Bank of the Florida Keys is joining the Fredrick Douglass School Black Educators Memorial Project in support of the Venora Reading Family Fun Day Event, taking place Saturday, September 8th from 1pm-4pm at the Willie Ward Park in Key West.
The free Family Fun Day will feature live entertainment, great food, activities and games for children, and free books!
The Festival is named for the late Venora B. Mingo, a prominent Keys civic and social leader. Mingo was an educator-principal for the parochial school at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, church leader, and founder of the St. Peter’s Kindergarten of which she was the director until her death in 1967.
