First State Bank of the Florida Keys is proud to congratulate President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director, Karen Sharp on twenty five years of dedicated service to the Bank.
Sharp began her career in the financial industry in 1981 and has been working at First State Bank of the Florida Keys since 1988, serving as the Bank's Chief Financial Officer before assuming her current role as President in 2002.
"Karen's vision, dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Bank and Keys community have been important factors in our ongoing success and an example to us all. We are fortunate to have her as the leader of our local family of bankers. On behalf of the entire Board and her fellow team members, we congratulate Karen on her twenty-fifth year," stated Jack Spottswood, First State Bank of the Florida Keys Chairman of the Board.
A native of Dearborn, Michigan, Sharp is a Florida Certified Public Accountant and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida Atlantic University and a master's degree in administration from Central Michigan University.
An active member in the Florida Keys community, Sharp is an Officer of the Florida Keys Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a Board Member of the Florida Bankers Association, Treasurer of Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, and a Past-President/Honorary Board Member of the American Cancer Society Florida Keys Unit.
