First State Bank of the Florida Keys congratulates Merica Strader, Assistant Vice President/Business Analyst and Charlie Mench, Corporate Services Representative on their tenth year with the Bank.
Merica Strader began her career with First State Bank as an Internet Banking Coordinator in 2001, was promoted Market Research Analyst in 2003, to Business Analyst in 2005, to Deposit Operations Officer in 2008, and to Assistant Vice President in 2011.
A native Floridian, Strader received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Sciences from the University of Florida and her Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Security Management from Saint Leo University. She is a tutor with Literacy Volunteers and resides in Key West.
“Merica’s extensive knowledge of our organization and ability to support a variety of functions within the Bank are what really have set her apart over the past ten years,” said Elizabeth Miranda, First State Bank EVP/ Risk Manager. “She is an invaluable member of our team and we wish her well on this milestone anniversary.”
Charlie Mench joined First State Bank as a Lockbox Coordinator in the Operations Department and became Bookkeeper in 2003. He has held numerous positions throughout the Bank including Deposit Risk Analyst, Wire Room Manager, and Loan Projects Administration before assuming his current role as Corporate Services Representative.
“We are pleased to have a person of Charlie’s well-rounded knowledge, banking experience and caliber on our Corporate Services team,” said Diane Gibson, First State Bank VP/Corporate Services-Business Development Manager. “He always goes the extra mile for customers and teammates, and we’re excited to celebrate his anniversary with the Bank.”
Mench is originally from Vermont and was a business owner and retail manager for 27 years before moving to Key West. He is an avid volunteer for local Key West non-profit organizations and was recently installed as an Associate Member at Large for the Key West Attractions Association Board.
