First State Bank of the Florida Keys announces the promotion of Gary Carney to Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer.
Carney joined First State Bank in 2006 as Senior Vice President and Senior Loan Administration Officer with 20 years of lending, credit management, loan administration, special assets and banking experience.
He was promoted to EVP in 2008 responsible for all loan processing and servicing functions, portfolio management, credit administration, special assets and development of the Bank’s subsidiary for OREO properties management.
Carney’s promotion to EVP and Chief Credit Officer reflects his accomplishments, special assets management and additional responsibility of all Commercial, Residential and Consumer loan sales production and management functions.
“Gary has streamlined the loan administration process, strengthened compliance oversight and enhanced customer service standards ensuring faster loan processing for our customers,” said Karen Sharp, President & CEO. “His leadership of both the customer and operational sides of lending has improved efficiency, expanded our product lines, and greatly enhanced customer service.”
Carney earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University, holds a Masters degree in Banking from America’s Community Bankers School of Banking at Fairfield University in Connecticut and is currently pursuing a Masters in Finance and Accounting from Regis University.
