FSB and Turtle Hospital to Host Chamber

First State Bank of the Florida Keys and the Turtle Hospital will host the Marathon Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event on Wednesday, June 10th from 5:30-Sunset at the Turtle Hospital located at 2396 Overseas Highway in Marathon.

Working together to welcome the Middle Keys business community, the event will feature tours of the Turtle Hospital and tanks, 50/50 raffles, food and spirits, interactive demonstrations, mobile/online gifts, and live entertainment by local artist, Adrianne.  Admission is free.

Eckstein Joins First State Bank

First State Bank of the Florida Keys welcomes Jon Eckstein as Vice President and Controller for the Bank’s Accounting Department.

Eckstein, who holds a MBA degree in Finance from University of Akron, joins First State Bank with 25 years of accounting and finance experience. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Florida and member of the American Institute of CPA’s.

First State Bank Supports Upper Keys Schools at Kona Kai Ceremony

First State Bank of the Florida Keys supported the Upper Keys Fairchild Challenge to educate Monroe County School District’s Upper Keys students on the importance of environmental education.

Developed by Kona Kai Resort, this program established environmental education that helped students learn through a fun and challenging event.  Challenges included a “video challenge” where the students made music videos using non-traditional instruments like water recycling and wind.

First State Bank of the Florida Keys provided volunteers to support Literacy Volunteers of America - Monroe County’s first ever Cookie Wars event at The Porch.

First State Bank volunteers sold tickets and helped with counting the “cookie votes” to help Literacy Volunteers’ mission to help people lead more productive lives and become better citizens through increasing literacy skills in Monroe County.

First State Bank of the Florida Keys Key Largo Tradewinds office welcomed two Key Largo School third graders in support of the school’s Junior Banker Program.

Students visit the Bank once a week over a three month period as part of the Junior Banker program and spend their day with Customer Service Representatives, Tellers, and Branch Managers learning the fundamentals of everyday banking.

First State Bank of the Florida Keys will host the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce Business Social event on Thursday, May 7th from 5:30-7:00pm at their Big Pine Office at 30515 Overseas Highway.

The Bank will welcome the Lower Keys business community at the event, which will feature a 50/50 raffle, food and spirits, interactive demonstrations, and mobile/online gifts. Free for Chamber members and a $10 donation to the Chamber for guests.

Batzel Joins First State Bank

Batzel, who holds a MBA degree from George Mason University in Virginia, joins First State Bank with over 30 years of banking and management experience.
