First State Bank Sponsors 7 Mile Bridge Run
Bank News

First State Bank is proud to once again partner with the Marathon Runners Club as the “Headline Sponsor” of the 38th Annual Seven Mile Bridge Run on April 6th.
“For over 60 years First State Bank has been a dedicated member of the Keys community,” said Karen Sharp, First State Bank President and CEO. “It gives our Bank a great deal of pride to be a part of this landmark Keys event that brings joy to so many residents and non-residents, while raising funds for the children of our Middle Keys community.”
The Seven Mile Bridge Run began as a dedication run in 1982, to celebrate the opening of the "new" bridge. Monies raised are donated to the youth of the Middle Keys, both to local schools and youth athletic groups. Since inception, Middle Keys’ kids have benefited from donations of well over $500,000 distributed by the Marathon Runners Club.
1,500 people from around the world participate in the Middle Keys’ Seven Mile Bridge Run crossing one of the world’s longest segmental bridges, the centerpiece of the Florida Keys’ 113-mile Overseas Highway. The scenic bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic throughout the event (from 6:45am-9:00am).
