FSB Helps Key Largo Summer Rec Program End with a Splash

Bank News

First State Bank recently donated $250 to provide supplies for the Key Largo School Summer Recreation Program’s end of camp water works celebration.

“It was First State Bank’s pleasure to contribute to the camp’s wet and wild day,” said Lori Bailey, Vice President/Commercial Lender for the Upper Keys. “The program’s teachers did a great job transforming the school’s field into a water park fully equipped with a giant slip and slide, water balloons and splash area with water sprayed by the Key Largo Volunteer Fire Department. We didn’t see one kid without a smile on their face.”

The 4-week summer program offered by Key Largo School hosted 200 children from throughout the Upper Keys. Funding for the free program is provided by the Ocean Reef Community Foundation and Keys Children's Foundation.

“With funding for any public school activity limited, we greatly appreciate the help of our supporters like First State Bank who help make this program a success,” said program director and Key Largo School teacher Ryan Smith. “It’s always amazing to see our community come together for our local kids.”
