President Celebrates 30th Year at First State Bank

First State Bank of the Florida Keys is proud to congratulate President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director, Karen Sharp on thirty years of dedicated service to the Bank.

Sharp began her career in the financial industry in 1981 and has been working at First State Bank since 1988. 

“Karen’s vision, dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Bank and Keys Community has been an important factor in our ongoing success and an example to us all.  We are very lucky to have her as the leader of our local family of bankers.  On behalf of the entire Board and her fellow team members, we congratulate Karen on her thirtieth year,” stated Jack Spottswood, First State Bank of the Florida Keys Chairman of the Board.

A native of Dearborn, Michigan, Sharp is a Florida Certified Public Accountant and holds an Associate of Arts degree from Broward Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University, and a Master’s Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.

An active member in the Florida Keys community, Sharp is a Board Member of the Key West Chamber of Commerce, serves as a Board Member of the Florida Bankers Association’s BancServ Committee and is a Past Board Member of the FBA Board of Directors. She is also a past Board Member of the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys and Past-President/Honorary Board Member of American Cancer Society Florida Keys Unit.
