Diego Caso KWHS 2026 Scholarship Application

The Diego Caso/First State Bank Scholarship was created by First State Bank's Board of Directors in perpetuity to honor Diego Caso for his 35 years of excellent service to the Bank. Since its inception in 2005, the program has provided opportunities for high school students who demonstrate strong academics, contribute to their community, are highly engaged in school and extra-curricular activities, and are college-bound.

The program provides a local student with an opportunity to partner with a dynamic business organization that is committed to its community, and to providing its employees (and prospective employees!) with continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

The Scholarship awards a student who is pursuing a college degree in business four thousand dollars ($4,000) toward college expenses. Notification of the award will be presented at Class Night in May, and the funds will be paid directly to the college upon proof of enrollment by the student.

Students are selected through a vetting process prior to graduation from Key West High School.  Consideration will be given to the student’s: high school academics/GPA; SAT & ACT scores; extracurricular activities (inclusive of sports, clubs, band, offices held, community involvement, charitable contributions, etc.); prior work history; proposed college major; and financial need.
