High School Business Scholarship 2026

The First State Bank Scholarship was created to recognize a college-bound student at each public high school in the Florida Keys who demonstrates strong academics, contributes to their community, and is highly engaged in school and extra-curricular activities. The scholarship provides a monetary award to use towards their pursuit of continued education, in the hope that they will one day bring their acquired skills and talents back to our Florida Keys community.

The Scholarship awards a student who is pursuing a college degree in finance, accounting, business, marketing, economics, or another business discipline one thousand, five hundred dollars ($1,500) toward college expenses. Notification of the award will be presented at Class Night in May, and the funds will be paid directly to the student. *

Students are selected through a vetting process prior to graduation from Key West, Marathon, or Coral Shores High School.  Consideration will be given to the student’s: high school academics/GPA; SAT & ACT scores; extracurricular activities (inclusive of sports, clubs, band, offices held, community involvement, charitable contributions, etc.); prior work history; and proposed college major.

*Scholarship funds will be provided to recipient at First State Bank location below upon receipt of W-9 presented at Class Night.
