Text Banking FAQs

WHAT IS TEXT BANKING?
Text banking allows you to send a text message to First State Bank to retrieve balances and transaction history or make transfers. To access Text Banking you need an Online Banking account and a mobile device with the ability to send and receive text messages.
IS THERE A CHARGE TO USE TEXT BANKING?
First State Bank does not charge to use Text Banking; however, your mobile provider’s message and data rates may apply.
IS TEXT BANKING SAFE?
Text Banking is safe and secure. Your name and account number(s) are not displayed. The information sent from Text Banking is similar to the information printed on an ATM receipt. You should still protect your mobile device. Click here for Smartphone Security Information Resources.
HOW DO I ENROLL IN TEXT BANKING?
- Log in to your Online Banking account at KeysBank.com or the KeysBank Mobile App
- Go to Menu and select Profile
- Click Text Banking and select Register Phone Number
- Select Use the Mobile Number on File or Enter a new mobile phone for Text Banking
- Check I Agree to Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy box
- Click Add
- Enter the confirmation code you receive via Text Message
- Enter the code into the field
- Click Submit
- Select the accounts you wish to enroll in Text Banking
HOW DO I USE TEXT BANKING?
Once enrolled, you can text any of the following commands to 97426 to receive information back via text message.
Bal <acct nickname> | Requests account balance for a specific account |

More | Request last 5 transactions in account history |
Trans | Transfer funds between accounts |

HOW OFTEN WILL I RECEIVE TEXTS FROM TEXT BANKING?
Texts are only sent when you send a text to 97426. Text messages are limited to 160 characters. Depending on the request, multiple replies could be received.
HOW DO I SEND A TEXT TO TEXT BANKING?
You can draft a new text message to 97426 or, if you have saved our Text Banking number to your contact list, you can send a text to that contact. For example, “FSB”, “First State Bank”, or “Text Banking”.
WHY DID I NOT GET A REPLY?
If you do not receive a text message from your command (BAL, HIST etc…) within a few moments, please check the number you sent the message to and the spelling of your command as some devices may use auto-correct. Your mobile provider may be blocking short codes or you may have blocked short codes on your mobile phone. Short codes are an abbreviated phone number and must be enabled to use Text Banking.
ARE TEXT BANKING COMMANDS CASE SENSITIVE?
No, they are not.
CAN I EDIT THE ACCOUNTS THAT APPEAR IN TEXT BANKING?
Yes, you can change the accounts that appear and the display names for accounts through Online or Mobile Banking. Log in and click on Profile and Text Banking to change this information.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PHONE IS LOST OR STOLEN?
Contact your mobile provider and ask to cancel the wireless service on your phone. First State Bank can disable your Text Banking login. When you receive a new phone, you can re-enroll through Online Banking.
WHAT MOBILE PHONES ARE SUPPORTED?
All mobile phones that can send and receive SMS (short message service) text messages are supported. Contact your wireless carrier to verify your mobile plan supports SMS text messaging and what fees may apply.
